Chapter 36

The next morning we woke up at around 8am and I called Joe. Andy hadn't woken up yet so Kevin was trying to decide where he wanted to eat. As I was talking to Joe, me and Kevin were getting ready to leave and I suddenly got the most wonderful idea.

Shannon: Dude! Kevin, you're driving! *He was still only 15 and had only had a few lessons, but I thought maybe he could handle it.*
Kevin: I'm *not* driving! I don't even have my permit!
Shannon: Joe, I'll call you back in a second, okay?
Joe: Ok, hurry up tho!
Shannon: I will. Love you! Bye!
Joe: Love you too. Bye.
Shannon: *I hung up the phone and looked at Kevin. Oh he was gonna drive!* Kevin, remember when I taught you how to swim?
Kevin: Uh.. well, yeah I was traumatized for several months afterwards!
Shannon: Well this is the same thing! The best way for you to learn how to do something is just by doing it. Just like when I taught you to swim.
Kevin: You *pushed* me into the deep end!
Shannon: Yeah, and it was either swim or drown, so what did you do? You swam! And you're alive to tell the tale.... *I started smiling.*
Kevin: *He couldn't help but smile too, but he still didn't wanna drive.* But I can't! I'm too nervous behind the wheel...
Shannon: Oh! Well then I guess me and you are gonna be living in Akron, Ohio then. And we're gonna live in this room, because I'm not driving! Kevin, just freakin DO IT!!!
Kevin: FIIIIINE!!!!! Gah! But if we die, then I'm gonna kill you!
Shannon: Fair enough. Now lets go! I'm starving! *We got into the car and I immediately called Joe back.*
Kevin: *He started adjusting the mirrors and moving his seat and looking all around him, terrified he was gonna hit something.* Ok, are we all buckled up? Which one is reverse? Do I have to hold the break down?
Shannon: Kevin, don't ask me questions, just figure it out. I'm on the phone! *I wasn't trying to be rude, and he knew it. That was just my way of teaching him. I know my methods are a little messed up.*
Kevin: Ok, here we go..... *He started driving really, really slow. It took us five minutes just to get out of the parking lot.*
Shannon: Kevin? Go the freakin speed limit! You can't drive this slow! I'm hungry! *Joe was cracking up on the other end of the line.* Joe, don't tell your mom or dad that I'm letting him drive. They'll murder me.
Joe: I won't. *He continued laughing as I continued yelling at Kevin until he eventually said, 'Forget it' and just drove. Once he stopped freaking out about driving, he did really well.* So are you guys still alive?
Shannon: Yeah, and we're about to have breakfast and then we're gonna get on the highway. I'll call you later, babe!
Joe: Ok, but tell Kevin that if anything happens to you then I'm gonna kill him! I love you!
Shannon: I will, I will.... I love you too! Bye. *I hung up the phone right as me and Kevin were walking into the restaurant. I was so hungry, I could've ate as much as Joe!* So, what should we do today? What's in between here and Springfield?
Kevin: I dunno.... I'm kinda in the mood for roller coasters though. Know where we could find some?
Shannon: Cedar Point! That's not even that far from here! I think it's in Sandusky..... we'll have to look at the map when we get in the car tho. Coz I'm not 100% sure where that is. I'm thinkin north though.
Kevin: I've never even heard of Cedar Point dude, what is that? How do *you* know?
Shannon: Well, in KC they have Worlds of Fun and they're like related somehow... I'm not exactly sure how I know, I just know. Must've heard the fam talking about it when I was there I guess.
Kevin: Ok, well, Cedar Point it is!

We got in the car and looked at the map and sure enough, Sandusky was about an hour and half's drive northwest. We got to Cedar Point and rode rides for the entire day! We rode roller coaster after roller coaster after roller coaster and ate at pretty much every food place they had there. Oh and dippin dots...... mmm..... We finally got out of there right as it was getting dark and decided to stay at a nearby hotel. This one was actually nicer than the Days Inn, but it was close to Cedar Point and we were tired. This time we didn't have to share a bed and I was happy about that, because I still almost wanted to kick Kevin for putting his butt all over me the night before!

Shannon: I didn't know you were wanting to stay ALL DAY!
Kevin: Well, I wasn't planning on it, but we were having so much fun.
Shannon: Yeah, it was fun! But tomorrow we should drive more. haha *I laid down in my own big comfy bed and called Joe and ended up falling asleep on the phone.*
